TAME THE DRAGON

Highway 129, also known as “The Dragon,” is a world famous stretch of asphalt between North Carolina mountain passes. Motorcycle and sport car enthusiasts are drawn to its unbelievable 318 curves in only 10 miles. Think of it as a roller coaster that you can drive. Graphic Works was hired to create a fantasy illustration that literally showed the stretch of asphalt as a living dragon.

Graphic Works used an original illustration to create a souvenir poster for participants who “Tamed the Dragon.” Our in-house illustration artist used oil paint on textured canvas to render a fantastic dragon holding the road sign. Our graphic designer created a wild text treatment that matched the subject matter.
